I was contacted recently by a 76 year old woman who was suffering from hair loss and found her life was being dictated by her hair.  This was causing her a significant amount of distress, so much so, that she finally decided to ask for help.  I arranged for her to come for a consultation so that we could discuss options together.  At the consultation, it was clear that she was very nervous and that asking for help was a big step for her to have taken.  I discussed options with her and we looked at possible styles for a wig.  It was agreed that we would order some samples of the styles that she liked and arrange a follow up appointment.  Within 3 days, the sample wigs had arrived, a further consultation had taken place and a wig had been chosen and fitted.  The transformation was incredible, but don’t just take my word for it; below are some of the messages I received following the wig fitting:

“When I arrived home, I was very nervous about how my husband would react to it but he absolutely loves it and says it is the right style and colour for me…I think I relaxed then, hence the glasses of wine.  I put it on this morning and just tweaked a bit here and there, so much easier and quicker than styling my own hair.  I can’t stop looking at it, it is exactly how I would have chosen to style my own hair were it of sufficient quantity.

I went to golf yesterday and there were more ladies there but only two made a comment and that was “I like your hair”, so I was very happy…My group of friends said again yesterday that it was amazing and no one would guess it was not my hair…knowing me and knowing how brilliant this one is, I will probably order a second one in time…I did think I wouldn’t wear it all the time at home but I just can’t leave it off.”

“I had arranged to play golf yesterday morning but asked…my best friend if she would meet me a bit late so I could speak to her before facing the rest of the group, giving them a chance to get on the course before us.  I drove into the car park and they were all waiting for me! [My best friend] had tried to say for them to go but they insisted on waiting for me.  You can imagine the state I was in.  [My best friend] cam to my car and smiled when she looked at me and then I burst into tears.  She then came and sat in my car and asked me what was wrong – more tears and then I said “its my hair” to which she replied “it looks beautiful”.  By this time, the others were concerned about me but they were brilliant so I relaxed and we played 9 holes.  After playing, we went into the restaurant for coffee and just inside the main door was a table with six more ladies sat there.  One said “…I like your hair, have you had it coloured?”.  Then they all agreed and I had to do a twirl.  I didn’t say a word.  It is Club day tomorrow so there will be more ladies but I am not feeling too bad about it after yesterday’s reaction.  You were right when you said people will just think I have changed my style.  So, I am still smiling! It is absolutely brilliant.  My husband keeps commenting on how lovely it looks so I am a really happy bunny.”

My hair loss was slow but sure. For as long as I can remember I have been trying to disguise frontal for rising alopecia, but it beat me! Seeing a photo of myself finally urged me to seek some help and I was so pleased to find someone local to me.

Before I knew it I was sitting in Hilarys salon for a consultation, to cut a long story short,before the end of the week she had some wigs for me to try and one of them was the one I chose.

I wore it out the next day, and have been wearing it ever since. People comment on it telling me they love my new hair cut! that it takes years off me, that it really suits me. The only person that knew it was a wig was my own hairdresser, she was very impressed!

I won’t say that it’s a easy thing to do but knowing that everyone thinks it’s my own hair gives me so much confidence., and that’s down to Hilary her skills and knowledge and abilities, “she’s not happy until your happy”

I have since ordered a second wig and enjoying wearing make up and coloured clothes again instead of hiding away!

I first met Hilary at my friend’s wedding when I was a bridesmaid. Hilary impressed me with how lovely and professional she was from the moment she entered the room. Then she impressed me still further with her skills as a hairdresser. She some how managed to turn my short, fine hair into a wonderful, full and beautiful hair style. I think she can do magic.
When I became engaged two years later Hilary was the first person I thought of to do my hair for my own big day. Hilary was as personable and friendly as I had remembered and recalled me from the previous wedding, which shows how much she gives to each job. On my big day she was a joy to be around, calm and professional. My hair was beautiful and had many comments.

I meet Hilary today. She tought me as a hairdresser more wedding/hair up techniques today. What can I say ??? 5 stars is not enough. Hilary is a truly amazing and very talented hairdresser and it’s amazing that she is willing to pass on her knowledge and information on to others like myself. The morning of my wedding was so stressful and then Hilary arrived and changed the atmosphere altogether. It was like a friend arriving not like someone we had only met once before. she knew exactly what we wanted before we finished explaining. I cannot believe how talented she is and how fast and easy she makes it look. Beautiful makeup and hair lasted till the next day. I booked the best and I love my wedding hair.

Hilary has amazing customer service skills, and a great ability to liaise with myself and my bridesmaids to understand how we wanted to look. The hair and the makeup were so soft and natural and had incredible detail and precision. I didn’t have an easy time organising most of my wedding in Herefordshire as I live in Nottingham, Hilary booked me in for a trial only days before my wedding. She advised me on my look and was so friendly and approachable throughout, it made a HUGE difference.

Hilary was absolutely fantastic right from my first appointment. I had 100% confidence in her, she made me feel relaxed and the end result was perfect. She listened to exactly what I wanted for my hair and it stayed in place all day long. My bridesmaids’ hairdos were also gorgeous. We all loved getting ready with her and I would recommend her to everyone.
We arranged our wedding for 14months – this meant we could be fussy with who I chose. A friendly and warm atmosphere!

Hilary was very friendly and helpful throughout and understood what I wanted straight away, as well as having appropriate suggestions that helped me to get my final look. Hilary and her team were reassuring and patient throughout, particularly when I had to keep changing the timings and on the wedding day when people were late. Hilary was absolutely amazing. I had so many worries, her approach was calm and in control. I felt totally relieved I was in safe hands. Not only did she do this for me, but also my mum, who I have never seen look so confident. Everyone complemented the intricate designs of my bridesmaids and my own hair. I felt like a princess while also being myself – completely understanding my vision.
